Concussion Training and Physical Information
All students trying out for an athletic team must have both an athletic physical and a concussion training certification on file with Mr. Bricker before they will be allowed to try out. The physical MUST BE on the most recent PWCS form and completed after May 1, 2016. No other physical forms will be accepted. Concussion training must be completed each year. Please turn all forms directly into Mr. Bricker in the Gym.
Middle school parents and students who are trying out for a sport for the first time or who are new to Prince William County Public Schools, must attend a face-to-face concussion training.
- Parents and students who have already attended a face to face training may take this year’s mandatory concussion training online. Rising 6th grade students and students new to Prince William County Public Schools are not eligible for the Online Training.
Go to online training (https://online-concussion.pwcs.edu)
Due to production issues, the online training will not be available for students who are completing the concussion training requirement for the first time. Currently, the online training is only for students who have attended a PWCS face-to-face training in a previous year. Thank you for your understanding as we continue to improve our process for delivery of concussion training and management in PWCS.
Only students who have attended a face-to-face concussion training in a previous year are eligible to complete the concussion training requirement online. At the conclusion of the online training, you will print out a certificate that verifies that the student and his/her parent and/or guardian have taken the training. This certificate must be turned in to the Mr. Bricker prior to trying out for a sport. The online presentations are available by clicking on this link (ONLINE CONCUSSION TRAINING).
***The online training has been known to shut down when there is a high volume of people accessing the website. Do not wait until the last minute to complete the training!!!***
