Scheduling Information Fair/Open House at OPHS
Osbourn Park will host a Scheduling Curriculum Information Fair/Open House on Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Parents and students will have an opportunity to visit with department chairs and teacher from various departments to discuss course offerings and address any questions they may have. Information sessions will be held throughout the evening.
Osbourn Park High School will host a Freshman and New Student Orientation from 6:30-8:30 pm on Thursday April 27, 2017. This is a great opportunity to learn about our specialty programs, meet department representatives, club sponsors, athletic coaches, and other OPHS organizations. Informative breakout sessions will be held throughout the evening. Hope to see you there!
Osbourn Park hospiciara una Feria/Casa abierta con información de la programación curricular el día jueves, 26 de enero del 2017 de 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Los padres y los estudiantes tendrán la oportunidad de visitar los diferentes departamentos y profesores de distintos departamentos para discutir los cursos que se ofrecen y dirigir cualquier pregunta que puedan tener. (Aspiring Scientists, Technologists, Engineers, Mathematicians) Event

ASTEM is a hands-on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) exploration event at The Governor’s School @ Innovation Park (GS@IP). Participants will have the opportunity to experience STEM activities facilitated by students and faculty of GS@IP.
ASTEM is open for current students in grades 7 and 8 who are interested in STEM and who attend Manassas City Public Schools, Manassas Park City Public Schools, or Prince William County Public Schools.
A concurrent session starting at 10:15 will be held for parents of the students who attend with a focus on preparing students for applying to a college preparatory program such as GS@IP. The information shared will also be relevant to preparing a student for the college admissions process.
ASTEM is free of charge to participants, but an RSVP is required by 1/9/17

Building Leaders for Advancing Science and Technology (BLAST) Summer Program
The Building Leaders for Advancing Science and Technology program offers an exciting, on campus summer experience designed to increase student interest and curiosity in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). BLAST provides a residential opportunity to current 8th and 9th grade students with at least a C+ grade average and a desire to explore STEM opportunities. Faculty members lead hands on activities and demonstrations that seek to motivate and inspire students for STEM studies and careers.
BLAST is FREE of charge for students who are selected to participate, but transportation to and from the participating universities is the responsibility of each family.
The program is a partnership between the Virginia Space Grant Consortium, Old Dominion University, the University of Virginia, Virginia Tech and the Commonwealth of Virginia.

PRACTICAL NURSING PROGRAM at Osbourn Park High School
The admission process for the School of Practical Nursing at Osbourn Park High School begins December 1. See the Practical Nursing website for information sessions from 9 to 10 a.m. at Osbourn Park, Stonewall Jackson, and Freedom High Schools. In addition, Osbourn Park will hold an evening session on all its specialty programs, including the School of Practical Nursing, on December 6 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
