This week we start Economics! We are going to be learning about money and how economies work. Civics is finally done!
March 13, 2017:
This week we are finishing the Judicial Branch and having our Unit Test (This is based on Snow Days). Once the test is over we will move into our finish unit of economics. This is one of my favorite units because we will be learning about money and how economies work.
March 6, 2017:
This week is the writing SOL so classes will mostly be covering vocabulary and review in anticipation of a future unit test. Any missing work must be turned in by Friday.
February 21, 2017:
This week we are learning about Judicial Review and Due Process. We are also watching "12 Angry Men" and discussing the role of a Jury and the idea of "Beyond a Reasonable Doubt."
- This is no work due this week, other than missing assignments

We are working on the Legislative and Executive Branch in class. We are talking about the laws and powers of Congress, as well as the role that President Trump will have in the Executive Branch starting Jan. 20th.
Homework: Students are creating a Comic demonstrating their knowledge of the Lawmaking process. Comic is due on Friday.
November 16, 2016 - Wednesday
We have been working on two assignments in class this week. The first one is our Creative Story about the United States in the future that is ruled by a Dictatorship (be sure to use our vocabulary words for full credit. - Due Friday 11/18.
The other assignment is a foldable. This is not due until the day before break (Nov 22-Tuesday). Use your notes to complete and real world examples from our government or current events.
November 7, 2016
After this weeks election we will be starting our next unit. This unit is about our Constitutional Government and the ideas and principals that make our government what it is. This is not a study of the branches of govenment, rather the ideas that led to the creation of the branches of government. I'm excited to cover the very ideas of what our government is based on.

Our first benchmark assessment will be on Monday and Tuesday of next week. (Oct 31/Nov 1). Make sure to do your study guide by Monday and have your Binders Organized!!

Homework this week is to create a political cartoon and answer the questions on the back of C8.
