Welcome to my page! I am excited to be teaching here at Parkside for my 4th year. This will be an amazing year that only happens once every four years. Our Presidential election will take place this November and our students will be able to learn about Civics and Economics while being able to make connections with what we cover in class and what they see going on around them as Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton battle it out for who will become our 45th President of the United States.
I look forward to guiding our next generation of leaders in understanding what makes our country such an amazing place by teaching them the purpose of our government, how our government works, and how they are the key to shaping and changing our government and society in a way that fits the world we all want our children to grow up in.
What we will be learning this year:
We will be covering a wide range of topics throughout the year and will spending a little extra time on the election process because of how much students will be exposed to during this election cycle.

Classroom Procedures and Expectations
I believe that all students are capable of being successful in my classroom if they come to class willing to learn, discuss, debate, and participate in classroom activities. Students will periodically receive homework requiring them to complete assignments that extend the learning outside of the classroom. This will also include anything that students do not complete during class time. I will provide enough time in class for assignments and any students who do not use their time wisely must finish the assignments at home or during lunch/after school.
If there is no assigned homework and you would like your child to be productive at night I strongly recommend that you allow them to watch the news (Fox, CNN, MSNBC, local, etc) in order to stay up to date on U.S. and world events that will expand their knowledge about content we are covering in class. Students should watch both sides (Right vs Left) in order to see both sides of the issue which will help them grow as critical thinkers.
I look forward to another great year here at Parkside Middle School! If you have any questions or concerns please let me know via email or call the school. My free period is from 11:03 to 12:20 every day.
