Introduction about You Section
Born and raised on Long Island, NY, I graduated Grove City College with a bachelor's degree in Marketing (minor in Psychology), and went on to get my Masters in Teaching from Liberty University. I am currently certified to teach preK-6 and middle school math, although I am always looking to further myself professionally.
In my years teaching, I have taught Intro and Intermediate Latin, Astronomy, Geography, Language Arts, and Math at the elementary, middle and high school levels.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending my time outdoors, be it biking, hiking or kayaking, or swing dancing.
Completing math homework is essential to success in math. Homework is not a punishment, but a valuable tool to help you/your student succeed in math. Therefore, students should expect weekly homework assignments. All homework assignments this year will be online at the following website: http://education.jlab.org/solquiz/. This website uses previous SOL questions to test certain skill sets, so it is a fantastic resource to help students prepare for the vigor of the new 6th grade math SOL test. Directions for how to use this website are included at the end of this packet.
Parents, your child will always receive written and oral directions for all class work, homework, and tests. Time will be given in class to write down their daily assignments in their planner.
