Please don't forget the review packet that students have in their notebooks. This is an excellent source of review. In Mr. Boynton's and the tutorial class, students continue to learn and review the quadrilaterals. The students will show their level of knowledge on this concept on Wednesday 3/22/17. In the tutorial class, students continue to work on word problems with their individual calculation and reasoning opportunities.  I have introduced the formula page in the tutorial class for two dimension and three dimension shapes. The students do not have the requirement of memorizing the formulas. They will need to follow the procedure to successfully substitute the given values. 1. Write the formula. 2. Put in the substitution values. 3. Use order of operation to solve. 4. If the answer is in the form of a  fraction analyze and if required, simplify.

Week of 3/13 to 3/17      The class has begun a new unit of learning. We have introduced vocabulary and characteristics of quadrilaterals. Please go to the math folder for the notes given in Mr. Boynton's class and my offering of worksheets to practice. These are posted for support beyond the snow day 3/14. The worksheets give an opportunity to practice the new skills.

The Social Skills lesson this week is on listening. We are working on giving attention to detail, not just hearing.    A large numbers of students did not take the opportunity for the next PIP. The opportunity to show their level of knowledge for graphing inequalities on a number line after making corrections on the first attempt to show practice for taking the PIP.   This week the students rotated into all four Math classes for the review lesson on multiplying and dividing fractions, converting between fraction decimal and percent along with multiplying and dividing decimals. Please see the math folder (dated 3/6 to 3/10) for the guidance and practice opportunities that the students experienced. Students can complete the worksheets for practice. The most recent IXL objectives are 6th Grade Z 1 through 8 along with AA 1 through 6.
